New York City is the world’s capital of street art. Many of street arts in the world are influenced by New York City’s graffiti rooted in 1970’s as a part of its underground scene. The street art scene once seemed declined by anti-graffiti movement…but New York City didn’t lose identity although the city was getting cleaner and neater. Street art gains status as a form of art today and a variety of street arts can be seen as an expression, commercial use, tribute, and showing pride. Street art is the symbol of New York City.
