New York City is the world’s capital of street art. Many of street arts in the world are influenced by New York City’s graffiti rooted in 1970’s as a part of its underground scene. The street art scene once seemed declined by anti-graffiti movement…but New York City didn’t lose identity although the city was getting cleaner and neater. Street art gains status as a form of art today and a variety of street arts can be seen as an expression, commercial use, tribute, and showing pride. Street art is the symbol of New York City.

STREETS
Those two street artworks by top graffiti artist group, Tatscru, face each other across a small street in The Bronx. Definitely among my most favorite, especially the top photo is the wonderful idea features many Bronx pride in the underground art. They are easy to find: just in front of Simpson Street Station of 2 and 5 trains.Hunts Point, Bronx.

“Trains are approaching. Stay clear of the platform”. Those subway cars and station look so real. At MTA facility near Westchester Square, Bronx. Only the concern is those wide subway trains run on E or F trains but not on 6 line with narrow body cars.Showing Albanian pride in Pelham Parkway, Bronx. Pelham Parkway section has a large Albanian population.This store mural easily identifies Pelham Parkway area as a gateway to Bronx Zoo and New York Botanical Garden.
Those two graffitis are on Shell/7-Eleven on Fordham Road, Bronx. “Curb your ego”…I agree, lol.That was a typical East Village graffiti, but what I liked was the top. “Cost fucked Madonna”. I think “Cost” means Adam Cost, a graffiti artist. In 2015.The combination of dirty graffiti and poster is underground pop. In NoHo, Manhattan.Although this is not exactly a street art but school property very visible from the street, I like the concept of artwork clearly and positively identifies Queens. At IS 145, a junior high school in Jackson Heights, Queens Gene Simmons of KISS attended.Williamsburg, Brooklyn

I visited the site on the next day I learned about the street art on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on TV. Do you know where this huge mural is at? The answer is……right next to Subway restaurant!
